Postsaver was conceived in the early 1990s by our CEO, Richard, after he noticed newly replaced fence posts rotting and failing after just a few years. Frustrated by the repeated cost and effort, Richard knew there had to be a better solution.

Drawing on decades of experience in the plastics industry, Richard teamed up with his brother Jim to develop a revolutionary product designed to stop ground-line rot once and for all. Just six months later, the first generation of Postsaver was born.

The original design featured a protective boot that fully encased the portion of the post below ground. While early testing delivered promising results, further trials revealed two critical insights: fungi and oxygen (the key contributors to rot) are not present deeper in the soil, and fully encapsulating the post had the propensity to trap moisture, potentially accelerating decay.

This led to a breakthrough in design. By focusing protection specifically at ground level and sealing the decay zone with a dual-layer, impermeable barrier, Postsaver was able to prevent moisture ingress while eliminating the conditions required for rot to develop. This innovation gave rise to the wrap-style protector that remains the foundation of the Postsaver product today.

Since the 1990s, we have continuously refined and improved our rot protection technology, evolving it into the latest generation available today. From the very first wrap, Postsaver has delivered a guaranteed 20-year lifespan, with each innovation further enhancing its performance and reliability.
